The sun had already risen, casting a warm glow through the half-drawn curtains of Aarvi's modest apartment. The soft breeze, unusually cool for this time of year, brushed against her face as she stood in front of the mirror. Her eyes held traces of sleep, but excitement and nervousness quickly overpowered any remnants of drowsiness.

Today was her first day at her office.

She freshened up with a quick shower, letting the cool water wash away her anxiety. A pastel blue shirtโ€”a subtle yet professional choiceโ€”hugged her frame perfectly. She opted for minimal makeup, enhancing her natural beauty with just a hint of blush and a light touch of mascara. Her hair was neatly styled into soft waves that fell over her shoulders.

Before stepping out, Aarvi paused. Her eyes rested on a framed photograph of her parents, their smiles forever frozen in time. She whispered a soft, โ€œBye, mom. Bye, dad,โ€ and traced the frame lightly with her fingers. Their accident still weighed heavily on her heart, but she was determined to make them proud.

Locking her apartment door, she made her way to the waiting cab. The city was already bustling, and traffic was, as usual, unforgiving. As walking away she looked at his ,her neighbor was there He stood by his car, scrolling through his phone. Their eyes met briefly he gave her a polite smile, and she returned it with a small, hesitant one.

She arrived at the office, a few minutes past her expected time. Her heart raced as she stepped into the building. The sleek interiors and the fast-paced atmosphere of Insight 24/7 were both intimidating and thrilling.

Her boss, Vikram Khanna, stood near the coffee machine, his sharp gaze meeting hers. He took a sip from his cup, his expression unreadable.

โ€œYouโ€™re late,โ€ he said in a firm voice.

Aarvi stammered, โ€œI-I got stuck in trafficโ€ฆโ€

Vikram's stern face broke into a teasing smile. โ€œLatecomers owe coffee to the whole team. Be careful next time,โ€ he added with a light chuckle.

Aarvi exhaled in relief, though she still felt her cheeks warm with embarrassment.

What Aarvi didnโ€™t know was that Vikram had felt a strange familiarity when he had reviewed her resume during the interview process.

Flashback โ€“ Vikramโ€™s Cabin (Resume Screening Time)

(Vikram is scanning through a pile of resumes, skimming each one casually.)

Vikram (thinking to himself):

"Aarvi Sharma... Sharma? That name... it sounds familiar. Could it be... No, no. There are thousands of Sharmas. Just a coincidence."

(His eyes pause on the small photo attached to the resume. Something stirs in his memoryโ€”a faint image of a little girl from an old accident case.)

Vikram (slightly uneasy, still thinking):

"That girl... from that accident... Could it be her? Ah, forget it. Iโ€™m overthinking."

(He places the resume back in the stack, brushing the thought aside, but a subtle doubt lingers in his mind.)

Her name had stirred something in his memoryโ€”an echo from the past. He hadnโ€™t been certain, but he chose to let it go. Today, seeing her in person, that faint sense of recognition returned, though he masked it well.

As the day progressed, Aarvi met the rest of the team. They were warm and welcoming, helping her settle in and making her feel less like an outsider. Though naturally reserved, Aarvi found their friendly nature comforting.

She was paired with Saanvi, a composed and diligent colleague who had been with the company for a few months. Saanvi was polite but quiet, focusing intently on her work. The two were assigned to cover a local community eventโ€”a relatively easy task, but it was Aarviโ€™s first field assignment.

The event was crowded yet lively, but as Aarvi took notes and clicked pictures, she felt an odd sensationโ€”as if someone was watching her. She glanced around but saw nothing unusual. She dismissed it, assuming it was just her nerves.

However, the feeling persisted on their way back. Her eyes flickered to the crowd more than once, but she saw no familiar face. Brushing off her discomfort, she focused on getting the details right for her story.

Meanwhile, across the city, Reyansh and Vidyut were deeply immersed in their work at RV Industries. The boardroom was filled with heated discussions about upcoming investments. Reyansh, calm yet authoritative, made his points with precision. Vidyut, slightly more impulsive but equally sharp, played devilโ€™s advocate, pushing for aggressive decisions. Their synergy was apparent; they balanced each other well.

During a brief pause, Reyansh leaned back in his chair. โ€œVidyut, we need to keep an eye on the foreign investors. The last-minute shifts are becoming frequent.โ€

Vidyut smirked. โ€œYou worry too much. But fine, Iโ€™ll handle it.โ€

Their day ended on a productive note, but Reyansh couldn't shake off a strange restlessnessโ€”an intuition he often trusted but couldnโ€™t yet place.

On the other side of town, Kritika struggled with her boutique's launch. Fabric samples cluttered her desk, orders were delayed, and the stress was mounting. She had a brief phone call with her supplier, trying to negotiate faster deliveries. After hanging up, she sighed, running her fingers through her hair. Kritikaโ€™s Boutique Struggles

Kritika apne boutique me, customer convince kar rahi hai:

โ€œTrust me maโ€™am, ye design sirf aap pe hi itna classy lagega.โ€

Customer thoda picky, lekin Kritika smartly handle karti hai. later,

Her phone buzzedโ€”a message from Aarvi. โ€œBoss ne maar diya aaj pehle din pe!โ€

Kritika hasti hai, โ€œTu zinda bach gayi na? Celebration banti hai!โ€โ€œSurvived Day 1. Barely. Coffee debt pending. Call you later?

Kritika chuckled and replied, โ€œWelcome to the real world. Talk soon.โ€ After that she said, "Let's meet later," and Kritika replied, "See you later."

As Aarvi returned home, exhaustion crept over her, but so did a faint sense of accomplishment. She unlocked her door and stepped inside. Before drawing the curtains, her eyes briefly caught her neighbor againโ€”standing by his car below. Their eyes met for a fleeting moment before he turned away.

She shut the window, leaning against it for a second.

Was it just her imagination? ok so that was just her illusion or there was really someone here she really been there every time she left and returned? Or was she creating illusions out of her own exhaustion?

Questions swirled in her mindโ€”about her day, her boss's familiarity, the stranger she felt watching her. But for now, she let them rest.

Little did she know, this was just the beginningโ€”of new bonds, unsettling mysteries, and shadows from a past she was yet to uncover.
